This review is about one of my favorite beer styles, Barleywine. From Tenaya Creek Brewery comes their Old Jackalope Barleywine. This style of beer gets its name from the alcohol content being comparable to wine. With an ABV of over 10%, this one does not let you down. A dark copper color with a strong head is what caches your eye first. The head holds the aroma of malt, toffee and caramel. A full thick mouthfeel starts with a heavy malt side that gives way to a slight hoppy finish. This is a local Vegas brewery but their beer is available in the surrounding states. If you have a chance to taste this fine brew, let me know what you think.
